Responsibilities You will own: Adopting and improving our month-end close process, ensuring the delivery of consistent, accurate and timely revenue reports, involving the reconciliation of accrued and deferred income. Testing, verifying and reporting the accuracy of our revenues and associated commissions. Driving Vendor reconciliations, ensuring discrepancies are closed within reasonable timelines, with appropriate escalation when necessary. Measuring and ensuring partner “customer” satisfaction through the delivery of timely and accurate revenue information. Analyzing current and past trends, to help create key performance indicators that help inform the business and drive decisions. Assisting in the evolution of Avant’s financial planning and reporting, including the development and maintenance of both new and existing revenue forecast models to support strategic initiatives. Supporting the CFO with improving operating efficiency by helping evaluate and document revenue lifecycle processes, identifying and mitigating any control weaknesses or risks, and implementing changes across the organization. Assisting the CFO with GAAP Revenue Recognition and Sales Tax governance. Minimum Qualifications and Key Competencies Bachelor's Degree in Accounting and/or Finance. 5+ years of relevant experience. A sound understanding of US GAAP accounting principles. Demonstrated analytical skills, including the ability to assemble information, extract pertinent facts, draw logical conclusions and present recommendations. Exceptional Microsoft Excel skills: the clean and logical presentation of results achieved through accurate data manipulation, leveraging Pivot Tables, Vlookups, =IF, and =Sumifs. Experience with RPM Telco, QuickBooks – not essential, but advantageous. Experience managing “customer” and other stake holder expectations. Experience owning and driving disputes to conclusion. Turning circles into straight lines. Proven ability to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously in an organized matter ensuring timelines are met. A natural curiosity and desire to problem solve; taking pride and pleasure in efficiently processing large amounts of data to glean insights.
